Our Story

 

Channeling the power of the late night city of Hemingway, Dali, Sergio Ramos, and Picasso Che’ Vonsay delivers a unique, one table experience, based on a combination of authentic Spanish, rich southern Italian, and blase’ Midwestern cuisine. We have combined the flavors of some of our favorite barrios (Calle Ponzano, Riomaggiore, Mahtomedi) and tilted them towards the southern European edge of culinary experimentation that is held to the ground with Midwestern logic and risk averse taste buds.

The dynamic menu we offer is based on our undying energy to explore and enjoy dive bars, tapas, and Michelin starred restaurants. We are firm believers in the time tested philosophy of “eat when you drink, drink when you eat”. We welcome those that hear the word Boquerones, and get taken back to a small cafe on a winding road in Malaga’, watching the sunset with a glass of Rioja. All the while yearning to be back in Hayward, WI at the Mocassin eating a thin burger patty while drinking a cold, but not cold enough, tap of Hamms beer.
